AIMEN Technology Centre, with more than 50 years of history, is currently a national and European benchmark in research, development, and technological innovation in the areas of advanced manufacturing and laser manufacturing, digital technologies for manufacturing, smart materials, smart systems, and recycling; as well as in the provision of differentiating technological services to the industry in the areas of manufacturing with advanced joining technologies, robotics and process digitization, a flexible cross-engineering service highly specialized in welding, corrosion, equipment calculation, product simulation, and material tests.
In the GENEX project, AIMEN is the leader of Work Package 2, where the manufacturing process is going to be developed. In this WP AIMEN will lead the development of the automated tape placement process and the inclusion of Fiber Optic Sensors on the material for process monitoring. Also, AIMEN will participate in Work Package 4, developing the LIBS system for surface preparation; and in Work Package 5, integrating the equipment in the manufacturing cell and defining the communication protocols with the platform.
