We are proud to announce a major step forward in the GENEX Project:
Two ATL demonstrators were successfully manufactured with in-process THz monitoring!
From Data to Decisions: A New Era in ATL Manufacturing
Imagine a production line where every parameter is monitored in real time, defects are detected before they happen, and data flows seamlessly to a digital twin.
That’s what was achieved at AIMEN:
✔ THz-based cure monitoring
✔ Smart tape with FOS integration
✔ Digital connectivity for predictive control
What’s in the videos?
- Right: The advanced monitoring system developed at AIMEN, enabling real-time control of key process parameters—temperature, compaction force, robot trajectory, and THz-based cure degree measurement. All data flows seamlessly to the Digital Twin.
- Left: THz technology in action, detecting and measuring tape amplitude during deposition for ultimate precision.
The images highlight Teflon inserts integrated into the demonstrators—both on the flanges and at the center of the flat area—plus the first prototype prepared for planar delamination testing.
This achievement marks a significant leap toward smart, connected, zero-defect composite manufacturing.
Big thanks to AIMEN and the GENEX Consortium for driving innovation forward!
